Welcome!

President’s Welcome

Welcome to Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC), a member of the University Center Rochester; a futuristic higher education model offering students options from certificates through doctorate degrees.  Articulated programs allow students to complete their first two years of college at RCTC and then stay in Rochester for selected four-year and graduate programs and studies.

As the oldest public two-year college in Minnesota, and one of the oldest in the United States, RCTC has a strong history of being a provider of educational, recreational, social, and cultural activities in the community.  For 90 years, outstanding faculty, along with equally dedicated members of the administration, staff, advisory boards, alumni, and friends, have worked together to help prepare our students for lives of achievement, leadership, and service.

The mission of RCTC is to provide accessible, affordable, quality, educational opportunities to a diverse community.  This mission is being fulfilled through offerings in more than 70 academic programs of study, partnerships with business and industry, and community collaborations.  Through our commitment of personal and professional development, RCTC continues to strive toward our vision of becoming a world-class provider of technical, liberal arts and lifelong learning.

The College has a great faculty and staff; state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and shops; and an advanced technology infrastructure.  We are proud to be Minnesota State Colleges and Universities third largest provider of e-learning credits.   In addition, students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of student life programs in areas such as music, theatre, athletics, honors, clubs, and much more.  These opportunities complement the educational experience and allow our students to develop skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.

So whether you’re looking for transfer classes, technical education, retraining opportunities, or continuing education, RCTC can help you GET THERE!
